As I write this post I’m still buzzing from the after effects of London Fashion Week SS17.
Being an expressionist on all levels and experiencing my first ever London Fashion Week Show, I can honestly say that the experience and atmosphere were totally insane. From the Brewer Street car park to the streets of Soho, the creativity level was on a high.
Ashley Williams, Burberry, Shrimps and Teatum Jones set trends for pyjama daywear for SS17.
The highlight for me was the bold statement texture of Teatum Jones’ SS17 Collection – a definite must-have for next season.
Not only did I have the opportunity to watch the shows as a guest of Mercedes-Benz, but I also worked backstage as a make-up artist in collaboration with the Academy of Freelance Makeup.
Being able to watch the shows as well as working behind the scenes, gave me a 360-degree spin on how the production is put together. I thought working in Sales was pressure, but in all honesty it’s nothing like the madness that happens backstage. When the adrenaline kicks in, however, working together as a team to pull off a successful show is the most amazing feeling in the world.
Assisting on Canadian designer Sid Neigum’s show was probably the biggest highlight in my make-up career to date. Check out my snippets from behind the scenes.
